Introduction to PTLs

What is a long-term thematic project (LTP)?

A PTL is responsible for developing initiatives aimed primarily at the teams that make up its reference group:

  • Bring together, among the consortium's research units based in Montpellier, a diverse range of research expertise aimed at advancing science and producing new knowledge;
  • Deploy, over time, a high-level scientific ambition, guided by light and effective governance, and likely to contribute to a structuring dynamic around the central theme of the PTL;
  • Support training by and for research at PhD Master's level.

The PTLS of the Chemistry Cluster

The I-SITE program of excellence, led by the University of Montpellier, has decided to provide strong support for research by establishing Long-Term Thematic Projects (PTLs).

After consulting our community, two PTLs in Chemistry emerged.

The first in the field of sustainable chemistry for health (CARLA) and the second in the field of sustainable chemistry for energy (CHIMENE).

The PTLs at the Chemistry Research Cluster are part of the Cluster’s overall approach, which aims to implement an ambitious recruitment strategy designed to leverage other funding sources with high national and international visibility, thereby attracting and training a new generation of
