Calls for projects

To achieve these goals, the PTL CHIMENE program relies ontwo annual calls for proposals:

  • NEXT: Funding forsix Master’s 2 internships(6 months), including stipends and operating expenses.
  • TALENTS: Funding fortwo18-monthfixed-term contracts forlong-termresearchers, each withan operating budget of €8,000.
AAP NEXT

The NEXT call for proposals aims to support research efforts within the units of the Chemistry Research Cluster that seek to develop an emerging research project focused on sustainable chemistry for energy.

To this end, the PTL CHIMENE will fundsix Master’s-level internshipsfocused on the PTL’s thematic areas.

Through the NEXT call for proposals, the PTL CHIMENE aims to promote research-based training for Master’s 2 students and encourage NEXT program recipients to pursue doctoral studies within the Chemistry Research Cluster.

AAP 2026 (coming soon)

AAP 2025 (Closed)

The PTL CHIMENE launched its first NEXT call for projects in 2025.

The winners of this year's competition are as follows:

  • Sébastien Richter (ICGM): Cytochrome c Oxidase Model for the Electrocatalytic Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR)
  • Long Hoang Bao (ICGM): New halo-spinel superionic conductor for Li solid-state batteries
  • Sébastien Clément (ICGM): Development of TRIarylimidazole-based redox mediators for fuel cells with regenerative cathodes
  • Tangi Aubert (ICGM): Hybrid and Functional Monoliths from 1D Porous Silica Nanostructures
  • Maria Boltoeva (ICSM): Eco-innovative extraction of rare earth elements via nano-ion-assisted cloud point
  • Umit Demirci (IEM): Electro-membrane contactor for the electrochemical regeneration of sodium borohydride, a hydrogen carrier for applications ranging from -50 to +50 °C
AAP TALENTS

The TALENTS call for projects is based both on theselection ofgroundbreaking and ambitious scientific projects ledby early-career researchers (EC/C) within the Chemistry cluster, and onthe recruitment of high-potential candidates who canapply for prestigious grants (ERC, PF-MSCA, etc.) and/or early-career researcher (EC/C) competitive exams.

To this end, the PTL CHIMENE is fundingtwo 18-month fixed-term research contractsfocused on the PTL’s thematic areas.

Call for Proposals 2026 (Closed)

The PTL CHIMENE launched its second call for TALENTS projects in September 2025.

The winners of this year's competition are as follows:

  • FFP-SCRIMET, led by Patrick Lacroix-Desmazes (ICGM), and;
  • RAPTOER, led by Sara Cavalière (ICGM).
AAP 2025 (closed)

The PTL CHIMENE launched its first call for TALENTS projects in 2025.
